Women's Lacrosse Level 1 to 2
Target Group and Prerequisites
Unlike men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse is not a full contact sport. However it offers just as much dynamic as the men's version. Body and stick contact are restricted in women's lacrosse. The pocket depth on the sticks in women's lacrosse is also much shallower. This requires more skill to carry and pass the ball.
This course is oriented towards individuals with little to no previous experience.
Content and Objectives
In the training units participants will practice comprehensive techniques such as passing, catching, line drills, and ground balls. Game situations such as fast breaks and man-up/man-down will be introduced. The practical units are supplemented with scoring exercises. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the regulations and train their fitness specifically for lacrosse. During the open play component at the end of training players have the opportunity to apply what they have learned and gain game experience.
