The Lousberglauf Digital powered by STAWAG comes to an end: From July 5 to 11, around 450 motivated participants ran the traditional distance of 5,555 meters. The Lousberglauf took place as a digital race, which meant that the runners could run wherever they wanted. In addition to the fun of running, the Lousberglauf always focuses on top athletic performances. Vera Coutellier from Cologne was the fastest female runner. She ran the 5,555 meters in a time of 19:17 minutes. Aachen's Lothar Wyrwoll took first place among the men with a time of 17:57 minutes.

This year, the Geopainting Challenge took place for the first time. For this, the participants had to plan their running route in such a way that in the end a picture on the map was created from the geodata. Numerous creative runners took part and submitted their pictures under #lousberglauf. The winning image will be determined by a jury based on the creativity of the image. The winner will be announced in the next few days. She or he will win a ride on the STAWAG hot air balloon for two people.

The Lousberglauf is traditionally also the final of the NRW UniLauf-Cup. It was also held this year as a digital running series. In the past 6 weeks, the university teams from Aachen, Dortmund, Duisburg-Essen, Düsseldorf, Cologne and Münster had the chance to compete against each other on freely selectable routes in 4 runs. After the team from Cologne was able to win the first two runs, the runners from Aachen managed to counterattack in the 3rd stage, so that it became really exciting again in stage 4 as part of the Lousberglauf Digital powered by STAWAG. Here again the Aachen team was able to secure the stage victory. Since Aachen and Cologne were tied with two stage victories each, the placement points over all stages were used for the decision. Due to the lower individual placings, Team Aachen 1 managed to prevail and thus continue to establish itself as the strongest team in the competition.
