European Network of Academic Sports Services
The European Network of Academic Sport Services, ENAS for short, is a network of European university sports institutions, which supports exchanges between members and offers a platform to share and teach best practice models. The network also promotes the development of "sports for all" at the universities with, among others, the following objectives:
- Development of communication between university institutions
- Promotion of the mobility of professionals in the field of university sports
- Exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experiences
- Support for its members in their efforts to achieve a better profile for university sports
ENAS was initiated in 1997 in Chambéry, France, and founded in 2001 in Münster as an official network by the current director of Aachen University Sports and first president of the organization. It currently has over 120 university sports institutions as members from 21 countries in Europe.
The RWTH Aachen University Sports Center has been a member of ENAS since it was founded and has contributed significantly to the construction of the network.
