Internationality at the Popular ALMA Snowevent in the SnowWorld Landgraaf
On November 27, it was finally time: The RWTH Aachen University Sports Center hosted the international ALMA Snowevent in Landgraaf. There, students met to take on the piste together and enjoying a relaxed Après-Ski evening in the Skihütte.
Participants from the Euregional universities – RWTH Aachen University, Université de Liège, Maastricht University and Universiteit Hasselt, ALMA for short – again heeded the call of the mountain in the SnowWorld Landgraaf. For many years now, the ALMA Snowevent stands for snow fun on the piste, as well as skiing and snowboarding courses and the chance to push your boundaries in the SnowWorld Fun-Park. The special thing about ALMA, however, is that, next to skiing and snowboarding, it gives students the opportunity to exchange with students from other countries in a relaxed atmosphere.
Whether beginner or expert, performance level is not important. Demand for the various courses for beginners and advanced courses was great, as students wished to get into it before the start of the winter season proper. Those who got a taste for skiing in Landgraaf can take part in one the many winter sports courses of the University Sports Center (HSZ). And for those for whom that isn’t enough, the HSZ offers take on real mountains on extra tours to Europe’s top winter sports destinations. Registration for these is already open. Those who still want to sign up can do it under hochschulsport.rwth-aachen.de/Extratouren.
