Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Content and Goals
The relaxation process of Progressive Muscle Relaxation, or PMR, was developed about one hundred years ago by the doctor Edmund Jacobson. He recognized the relationship between mental tension and muscle tensions. Through the targeted and conscious strain and relaxation of different muscle groups muscle tension is relieved and one's mental state simultaneously improves. As systematic muscle relaxation training, PMR promotes body awareness. It is easy to learn the technique, can be easily applied in daily situations, teaches self perception, and promotes mindfulness.
The special thing about this course is the combilation of progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) and the principle of mindfulness.
