Basketball Level 1
Target Group and Prerequisites
Interested individuals without any playing or training experience or with very little previous knowledge based on physical education class in school. Because the class content is successive, we recommend that you regularly attend.
Content and Objectives
- Introduction to basketball and the most important rules and principles of the game.
- Teaching individual, fundamental skills like dribbling and stopping with the ball; pivoting; changing directions; passing with chest passes, bounce passes, and overhead passes; catching; layups, and basic throwing technique
- Fundamental elements of defense such as the basic position, shuffling, 1-to-1 defense, and the elements of offense such as postitions, tasks, and 1-2-2-positioning.
- Training fitness overall and specific to basketball: core strength, coodination, endurance, speed, strength endurance, and jumping power
