Target Group and Requirements
The Canoe Polo training (Level 2) is open to all, after consultation with the course instructor: Beginners, experts, returners, club players and people from other canoe disciplines.
For those who can’t paddle yet, participation in the beginners’ training (Canoe Polo Level 1) is recommended. This takes place on May 5, May 15 and May 22 and will enable you calmly to learn the basics, to enable you to take part in the normal training (Canoe Polo Level 2): Paddling, boat control, throwing and catching,
Content and Objectives
Canoe polo is a team sport, which combines the playful handling of a ball with perfect mastery of the boat. At the university level kayak polo is exclusively played in mixed teams.
From April until October we train every Tuesday and Thursday in the summer at the Blausteinsee near Eschweiler. We always meet at 6pm at the Pontwall carpark opposite the Audimax and cafeteria to form carpools. Boats, paddles, helmets, and spray skirts are provided by University Sports.
From November until March, we train every fortnight in the indoor swimming pool at Grundschule Schwalbenweg.
