Softball Level 2
Target Group and Prerequisites
This offer is oriented towards beginners who also know the basic techniques, rules of play, and the corresponding regulations from Level 1. Participants are required to have little to moderate match experience: ideally one game season. Interested individuals should possess confident skills in fielding with regards to rolled ground balls, pitches further than base distances, and confident contact hitting a pitched ball when batting.
You must talk with the course instructor in order to participate. Registration is password-protected.
Content and Objectives
This course is for players who want more: by improving the various techniques and learning new game situations, participants acquire a deeper understanding of the sport. The long term goal is to achieve the level of play of a competitive team.
- Expansion of fundamentals to include pitching and catching techniques adapted to the situtation, such as flyballs, crow hop, side arm, and backhand tosses
- Fine tuning hitting techniques, intensive correction to imperfect basic techniques
- Introduction to basic routines/tactics: double play, bunt defense, and application of techniques when under pressure
