Athletics Basic Training Level 1
Target Group and Requirements
This course is designed for athletes with little or no specific experience in athletics.
Contents and Goals
The goal is to acquire or train basic athletic skills. The course focuses on running disciplines, including reaction and acceleration from the starting block, maximum speed, sprint endurance and proper running technique, technique elements such as relay and hurdling. Jumping power is addressed through various strength and circuit exercises. The core and general athletic fitness are also trained. Elements from the jumping, throwing and pushing disciplines will also be included.
The meeting point at Ludwig Kuhnen Stadium is in front of the stairs leading to the locker rooms. Please wear sportswear and appropriate footwear at the first session. There is limited use of the changing rooms. Regular participation is recommended.
