Aachen Cheerleaders Take First Place in Koblenz!

The Aachen Cheerleader Rockets competed at the championships in Koblenz in the category Coed Cheer Level 4 and took first place!

The trainers Jana Chudobova and Alex Pietz and the former trainer Jonas Jäger founded the team in September 2018, following through on their wish to found an official RWTH cheerleading team. With the support of the University Sports Center of RWTH Aachen University nothing stood in the way of its foundation and a group of 28 cheerleaders came together. A few had already taken part in the RWTH Ice Hockey Uni-Cup.

Previously, the Rockets had taken part in two competitions: The Royal Cup and Summer Cheer Masters. In both competitions, they placed first with their outstanding performance.

“This was the first Cheer Championship for almost all of us and the guys and girls laid down a great performance and brought a superb routine to the mat. Despite last minute changes in the schedule of the championship, the rockets kept a cool head. First, they warmed up outside and then warmed up their stunts and pyramids in a separate section of the sports hall. The run-through (the test run of the routine) turned out a bit mixed. Despite an hours wait before their turn, they finally performed a great routine and with a score of 77.10 and a lead of 10 points, they took first place”, reports Alex Pietz.
