Professor Dr. Alexander Markschies, who participated in the meeting as delegate for university sports, highlighted in his welcoming address the great importance of university sports and his support in case of a successful application. Peter Lynen, head of the HSZ and host of the meeting, noted as well the great opportunity that such a project presented for the sports services of their respective universities and representatives.
The participants have seven weeks to formulate and submit an application.
In a sustainable cooperation with partner-universities from seven different EU countries, the Active Campus Europe project wishes to pursue the promotion of health-promoting physical activity within the university setting, whereby ACE should serve as an example for universities in Europe.
