Windsurfing on Ijsselmeer in Makkum

Rules of Conduct Corona Interim Program

Compliance with the Corona Rules of Conduct is compulsory for all participants of the interim program.

Despite Corona, we will again be offering the windsurfing course for beginners and advanced windsurfers in Makkum on the Dutch Ijsselmeer. With consideration for the skill levels of the participants, different groups will be formed, so that everybody gets their money’s worth.

In addition to learning to windsurf, you can also acquire the DSV-Grundschein on request.

You also have the opportunity to learn and improve further techniques under supervision, such as footstrap and harness riding, beach starts, water starts, jibing/tacking, and much more.

Makkum is an ideal backdrop for all skill levels: it is completely shallow, so that beginners can have their first surfing experiences in all wind directions without difficulty. For all other skill levels, it is the ideal practice location to fine-tune existing maneuvers or learn new jibes and tacks.

Surfing equipment for beginners and those slightly more experienced are available and can be rented for 60 Euros for the duration of the course. We recommend that experienced surfers bring their own material.

Accommodation is provided in three houses, for six people each, at Beach Ressort Makkum. These are very well appointed, so that we can cook for ourselves in our groups.

Arrival and Departure

The tour begins on Thursday afternoonat the Wildenhof, the water sports facility of the university sports center at the Rursee, where we will put together the equipment with you and load the vehicles. Afterwards we have a BBQ to kick off the tour. It is possible to stay the night at Wildenhof. The tour then leaves for Holland on Friday morning.
