The Round Goes into the Square at the RWTH Indoor Soccer Cup 2017 powered by BBBank
Soccer fans have already highlighted March 25 in their calendar, as it is the day of the RWTH Indoor Soccer Cup powered by BBBank. 20 Teams give their best at the battle for the trophy. This popular event is organized by the University Sports Center of RWTH Aachen (HSZ).
The HSZ and the RWTH women’s soccer team are creating a sportive ending of the winter semester by organizing the RWTH Indoor Soccer Cup powered by BBBank. The upcoming mixed tournament is about endurance, team spirit and a lot of fun! The BB Bank Aachen also discovered the potential of this event and therefore it is the main sponsor again. “On the one side there is a strong university, and on the other there is a strong bank”, branch director Alexander Bonnes said. The BBBank accompanies its members in every stage of life for 100 years and “sport is a part of it”, Bonnes pointed out as a reason for this cooperation.
It is not easy to participate in this event as the spots are coveted: Only the most creative kickers can compete against each other. That is why the 20 teams that can set foot on the field are already winners, since their creative and convincing application got them a starting place at the RWTH Indoor Soccer Cup 2017 powered by BBBank. The given applications will be presented on the day of the event in the sports hall as an exhibition.
But the event is not only about the trophy. By the help of the cheering audience all teams fight for even more: “Besides the athletic performances, the event also focusses on team spirit, engagement and fair play. Therefore the formation of identity of the different institutes as well as the team building outside of everyday university life is supported”, as Peter Lynen, head of the HSZ, explained. That is also the reason for the diverse prizes that will be given: There is a prize for the most creative application, one for the “master of the hearts” for fair play and even one for the “best fans”.
On March 25, all soccer fans are invited to be part of this great event in the sports hall Königshügel. Entrance is at 9.45 am, the official opening will be at 10 am. Entrance is free.
