Six weeks can be really long and even boring. But not at the vacation program of the Family Service Center! The offered sport camps are definitely a highlight for many kids and 2017 it is offered again. With a group size of 20 to 25 kids that are between six and eleven years old, there are a whole lot of interesting new types of sports to discover, so that the kids might find their new favorite sport.

Last week, “Moving and Balance” was the main topic and the sports Aikido, unicycle riding, juggling, gymnastics, and wheel gymnastic were offered. Today three days concerning “Girls go MINT” starts, which is an offer for girls of the surrounding schools. Thereby they try out institutes of RWTH and of course, they can do some sports in between. There is yoga, soccer, basketball for women. So this is a chance for girls between twelve and 14 years to find new talents and have fun at doing sports.

Starting on August, 7 to August 11, the second Vacation week starts with the main topic “Stay on the ball”. As the title suggests, this week is all about ball sports, such as rugby, soccer, badminton, basketball or handball.

The Equal Opportunities Office organizes this event as well as the financing, and registration, but the HSZ supports this event by providing the resources. The HSZ is happy about the motivated trainers that are contributed to this project!

We are happy about this entertaining vacation and are already awaiting the next days! Have fun!
