„Move More, Feel Better“: ACE-Activity Programs Successfully Started
16 universities in 7 European countries are, under the project lead of RWTH Aachen University, carrying out an activity program for sport inactive students.
From 12th to 14th December all project members of the health activity program „Active Campus Europe“ met at Imperial College London, one of the project members, in order to discuss and exchange the experience of the first round of the program.
„Move more, feel better“ is an activity program to motivate students to get into the habit of physical activity and consists of a wide range of voluntary and obligatory activities. Individual monitoring, health screening and health tests, workshops and lectures, individual feed-back and low participant fees make it easy for students to participate and get enthusiastic about physical activity.
For the second round, which, for RWTH Aachen University will be starting next April, adaptations were discussed to improve the program further. Not only students, but also employees of the university are showing great interest in the offers of the program. „We are happy to see so many positive results and outcomes from the program“, said Peter Lynen, head of RWTH Aachen University sport department and project lead.
Following the end of the EU Erasmus+ supported program, a further program targeting this group will also be applied for and carried out.
