The Lousberglauf powered by STAWAG

The second Lousberglauf Digital powered by STAWAG comes to an end. From July 5 to 11, 434 motivated runners ran the cult run in Aachen. Peter Lynen, Head of the University Sports Center is excited about the successful running event. The Lousberglauf has a lot to do with fun, he says. That is exactly what he saw again this year. He is pleased that the Lousberglauf Digital powered by STAWAG was so well received.

Aachen Wins NRW UniLauf-Cup

The Lousberglauf is traditionally the finale of the NRW UniLauf Cup. This running series has been organized by the universities of Münster, Dortmund, Cologne and Aachen since 2003. Running teams from universities all over NRW compete against each other. This year, the race was exciting until the very last run. At the end of the Lousberglauf Digital, the Aachen and Cologne teams were still tied. Due to the lower individual placings, Team Aachen 1 managed to prevail and thus continue to establish itself as the strongest team in the competition.

Title Sponsor STAWAG

The long-time title sponsor of the Lousberglauf, STAWAG supported the run again this year. STAWAG has been the title sponsor of the Lousberglauf for 17 years. Also this year it was very important for the company to support the run. According to Kirsten Haacke from STAWAG Communications, the Lousberglauf is simply fascinating as an event. It was very important to STAWAG that the Lousberglauf feeling would also arise this year. With its support of university sports, STAWAG wanted to give something back, especially to the students in Aachen.

The Geopainting Challenge

This year, the Geopainting Challenge took place for the first time. For this, the participants had to plan their running route in such a way that in the end a picture on the map was created from the geodata. Numerous creative runners participated and submitted their pictures under the hashtag Lousberglauf. The winning image will be determined by a jury based on the creativity of the image. The winner will be announced in the next few days. She or he will win a ride on the STAWAG hot air balloon for two people.
