From May 17 to May 19, 2022, the adh Perspective Meeting of the German University Sports Federation (adh) takes place in Aachen. University members and interested parties from all over Germany deal with the topic "Internationalization in University Sports" in various lectures, seminars, and activities during the three event days. The conference is organized by the University Sports Center of RWTH Aachen University (HSZ).

For the adh Perspective Meeting, an exciting supporting program was organized for all participants. Yesterday, on Tuesday, everyone had the opportunity to get to know the imperial city of Aachen as well as the sports facilities of the RWTH Aachen better in various guided tours. The participants concluded the interesting first day with a joint dinner in the Ratskeller.

The unique location of the city in the Euregio enabled a joint excursion to Brussels on the second day. After an impressive guided tour through the EU Parliament and a relaxed walk to the State Representation of NRW, the challenges and future topics were discussed and deepened with exciting lectures on the overarching topic "Importance and Opportunities of Internationalization in University Sports". The speakers were experts from the fields of sports, politics, and science. Among them were Andreas Bold (EOC EU Office), Tomasz Frankowski (Member of the European Parliament), and Jörg Singelnstein (Press and Sports Policy State Representation NRW Brussels), who spoke, for example, about the importance and funding programs of the EU in sports. An important point was also the World University Games, which will take place again in Germany in 2025 after more than 30 years with the Rhine-Ruhr concept. Afterwards, all participants still had the opportunity to explore Brussels on a guided tour starting at the Grand Place.

The fascinating impressions of the second day will be rounded off this evening at a joint dinner with music and show performances by, among others, a contemporary dance group in the Ballsaal Aachen.

Tomorrow the participants are looking forward to an interesting final day filled with various seminars. Everyone will be welcomed by the mayor Sybille Keupen and the rector of the RWTH Prof. Dr. Ulrich Rüdiger.

Further information about the event can be found on the adh website.
