Lecture-free time at RWTH Aachen University means exam period, and that means long days sitting at the desk and studying. Sports and exercise are often neglected. The RWTH University Sports Center (HSZ) and the Student Health Management (SGM) have brought movement, mental regeneration and, of course, a lot of fun into the past exam period with the campaign "The Active Study Break". An active sports break not only helps to counteract physical ailments or posture problems - it has also been scientifically proven that an active study break increases the concentration and receptiveness of students.

The exercise leaders of the Pausenexpress came to the forecourt of the RWTH University Library twice a week to offer students the opportunity to exercise and relax during their breaks. Also on board was the Vitality Bike, a cargo bike from the HSZ loaded with numerous sports and game equipment, which students can also use to make their study break individually active.

The campaign was once again very well received by the students during this exam period: A total of 510 students took part in the break offer. The "Active Study Break" is part of the project "Bewegt Studieren - Studieren Bewegt 2.0" of the HSZ in cooperation with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Hochschulsportverband adh and the Techniker Krankenkasse as well as the Student Health Management of the RWTH.
