The Pausenexpress is a 15-minute exercise unit comprising of mobilisation, strength and relaxation exercises for RWTH and FH employees in the workplace.

The foundations for the Pausenexpress were laid by the University of Potsdam within the frame of a needs assessment on mobility training in the workplace. First put into practice in the summer semester of 2009, in 2010 the programme was further developed and individually adapted by the universities of Berlin, Paderborn, Wuppertal and RWTH as part of a BGH project in cooperation with the AdH.

Since 2010, popularity and profile of the Pausenexpress have steadily risen, with 150 courses, lead by qualified University Sports instructors, with over 850 participants taking place every week.
