Access to Wildenhof and Accommodation Options
All day visitors must check in with the manager of Wildenhof and present their university or student ID. Newcomers will receive a brief introduction to the key rules. Visitors who are not authorized to be there are kindly asked to find another spot by the lake.
Students and university staff have the opportunity to engage in sports and relaxation activities. An attractive and varied program of water sports courses is offered each year, including canoeing, rowing, sailing, surfing, and diving. Additionally, there are facilities for pétanque, table tennis, and beach volleyball.
Swimming in Lake Rur is unfortunately not permitted at the shore or the piers of Wildenhof. Violations of this ban will be fined by the Reservoir Association. The amount of the fine is listed in the recreational regulations for Lake Rur.
From Tuesday to Thursday, institutes and organizations can hold seminars, conferences, or company outings on the premises. Those wishing to stay overnight in the Eifel can either camp in their own tent on the grounds or book one of the 40 beds available at Wildenhof. Overnight stays must be reserved in advance by email or phone through the Service Point of the University Sports Center. If there are available spots, bookings can also be made directly at Wildenhof on short notice. The fees for the tent site are paid on-site.
For meals, guests can either use the self-catering kitchen or rent a grill for an evening barbecue at the Wildenhof administration. Kitchen utensils must be brought along.
Please note that the gate closes at 10 PM, and quiet hours begin at 11 PM. Therefore, Wildenhof is more suited for a peaceful retreat rather than loud parties.
