Aachen gymnasts organize internal university championships

After this year's German University Championships (DHM) in gymnastics had to be cancelled due to the lack of a venue, the members of the Aachen gymnastics group got together and organized their own event.

The Aachen University Championships (AHM) took place on July 6 in the Verlautenheiden gymnasium. 22 gymnasts from Aachen's universities came together and competed against each other in teams on various apparatus: On parallel bars, beam, rings, high bar, horse and floor. Two to five people formed a team, with one person competing in each discipline and collecting points for the team.

At the end of the day, the team with Imke Schreiner and Timo Richter stood at the top of the winners' podium. In addition to the great sporting achievements, the participants and the audience were in a good mood. An absolutely successful event, but the athletes still hope to be able to take part in an official DHM again next year and then also meet other universities.
