World University Championships Bridge - two Aachen university athletes are taking part!

Together with four other students, Sven Farwig and Philipp Pabst will represent Germany at the WUC Bridge in Uganda, which takes place from 25th to 30th June. The WUC is increasingly becoming one of the top events in the individual sports. This is also shown by the fields of participants in past World Student Championships, which are increasingly made up of top national athletes from the represented countries.

The sport of bridge is a mental sport. In terms of difficulty, the game is comparable to chess. However, as bridge is played in teams of two, there is also a communicative aspect.

Sven Farwig and Philipp Pabst achieved 3rd place at the WUC Denksport 2022 in Belgium and were honoured with the Aachen University Sports Award powered by STAWAG. This prize is awarded annually to the Aachen University Sports Centre athletes who have achieved the highest ranking in a national or international competition.
