Syifa competed with the Taekwondo Düren 1989 e.V. club to represent the FH Aachen in Taekwondo Poomsae. While Syifa was eliminated in the preliminary round of the knockout competition against a stronger opponent, she was able to show off all her skills in the freestyle discipline. With her own choreography and accompanied by music, Syifa made it to third place and brought the bronze medal back to Aachen.

In April, Syifa had already been awarded the top sports prize by Aachen University Sports. She was honored for her performance at the European Universities Combat Sports Championship (EUSA Combat) 2023, where she also took third place in the freestyle discipline.

The European Universities Games (EUP) is a multi-sport event that is held every two years in various European university locations. This year it was the two cities of Miskolc and Debrecen in Hungary. At the EUG, athletes from different universities compete against each other in various sports disciplines. In 2024, there were 400 universities from 40 European countries.

The program is broadly diversified with 18 different sports, ranging from basketball to chess and water polo to taekwondo. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, which is often practiced as a combat sport. Speed and dynamism are particularly important. The three syllables of the word stand for foot technique - tea, hand technique - kwon and way - do.

The University Sports Center congratulates her on this impressive achievement!
