RWTH GYM: Return to the main building with new flooring

After a construction phase lasting around two months, RWTH GYM will return to its original building on Königshügel at the beginning of September. GYM will be closed for the move back from September 1 to 7, 2025. From September 8, all athletes will be able to train as usual in the modernized GYM – this time on completely renovated flooring.

Relocation and construction phase

The major update began at the end of June: The RWTH GYM first moved to the temporary building on Königshügel to make room for the construction work. The GYM was closed for the move from June 23 to 29, before operations began in the temporary building on June 30. At the same time, floor renovation began in the main building, which was completed by the end of August.

New flooring for improved training comfort

The new sports flooring will ensure an improved training environment in the future. The University Sports Center is thus focusing on the sustainable modernization of its sports facilities, which will benefit the students and employees of RWTH Aachen University.

The University Sports Center is looking forward to reopening the RWTH GYM at its usual location in the HSZ soon.
