Alexander Landschek has been an active participant in university sports since 2009. After successfully completing his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, he completed a master's degree in teaching for vocational colleges, specializing in mechanical engineering and production engineering. Before taking up acrobatics, he was active in sports such as soccer, tennis, and kickboxing, before focusing on sports acrobatics from his third semester onwards.
Since 2011, he has trained regularly in what was then a small acrobatics group with around five to eight participants. About eleven years ago, he took over as training supervisor and also became chairman for (sports) acrobatics in university sports. At the same time, he volunteered as head of the acrobatics group at the Burtscheider Turnverein. At the end of the current quarter, he is ending his work as a training supervisor in order to complete his legal clerkship, move house, and start at a new school.
With his help, acrobatics at the HSZ has been continuously expanded and has been prominently featured at events such as the RWTH Sports Day, gala shows, graduation ceremonies, and every university sports show since 2012. The number of participants grew from just a few active members to over 100 registered acrobats, with an average of more than 50 people per training session. Alexander's defining motto: “By acrobats for acrobats.”
Over the years, the group developed into a close-knit community of friends with numerous joint activities outside of training. The enthusiasm during training, the beaming faces of the participants, and the many friendships that developed were particularly memorable for him. His motivation stemmed from his deep passion for the sport, his desire to take on responsibility, and his commitment to actively developing university sports.
The University Sports Center would like to express its sincere thanks for his many years of dedicated work and congratulate him on his well-deserved award.
