RWTH Aachen University with Project ACE represented at the first HEPA Cluster-Meeting

The first HEPA (Health Enhanced Physical Activity) Cluster meeting to place on December 4 and 5 in Brussels by invitation of the European Commission. All large health oriented organizations were represented at the occasion, like UNESCO, the EU involved sports commissions and European sports associations, to discuss initiatives and programs that support healthy lifestyles.

A particular focus of the discussions was the so called Tartu Call for Healthy Lifestyles, which was adopted by the European Commission as part of Estonia’s EU-Council Presidency this year.

Peter Lynen, Head of the University Sports Center (HSZ) represented, by invitation of the European Commission, the project Active Campus Europe (ACE), which is led by RWTH Aachen University and aims to provide inactive people with an attractive exercise program.

As part of the ACE Project, intervention programs for inactive students are taking place at 16 universities in seven different countries.
