RWTH Aachen University Sports Center successfully carries out Snowsport Training with 70 participants

From December 16 to 20, the University Sports Center again carried out its advanced ski and snowboard instructor training course, drawing more people to Celerina in Switzerland, than ever before. Although Aachen isn’t known for being a winter sport destination, over 70 people took part in this year’s course, organized by the University Sports Center (HSZ). This is unique among university sports institutions.

The course is known to provide a great mix of technique training and learning in the areas of methodology and didactics, as well as providing a great opportunity to improve one’s soft skills. Additionally, it offered the chance to find out whether one is suited for the qualification to become ski or snowboard instructor at the University Sports Center.

As well as snowboarding and alpine skiing, the course also taught telemark skiing. For the course, the HSZ again employed a team of highly qualified DSLV (German Ski Instructors Association) and DSV (German Skiing Association) instructors, who were well liked by the participants.

Uli Weber, coordinating trainer for the event and deputy head and Peter Lynen, head of the University Sports Center, both agreed, that this event is very important for the university city of Aachen and will carry on to be offered on the years to come.
