Table Tennis Chairman Receives the Honorary Award of the Sparkasse Aachen

Every year, the University Sports Center, together with Sparkasse Aachen, honors a person who works voluntarily in University Sports Center with the Sparkasse Aachen Top Sports Award. The prize is awarded for exceptional commitment as a chairperson. This year, the honorary award went to the former chairman of table tennis, Carsten Schlotterhose.

Carsten Schlotterhose had been table tennis coach since 2013 and took over the honorary position of chairman for the sport in June 2015. He was in this position for over seven years, which he stepped down from in October 2022. During his time as chairman he helped to expand and develop the offer in the sport of table tennis.

He was also very involved in the execution of tournaments, such as the German University Championship (DHM) in table tennis and organized as chairman several preliminary and intermediate rounds and in 2019 even the final round of the DHM table tennis in Aachen.

Dr. Christian Burmester, CEO of Sparkasse Aachen, presented the award to Carsten Schlotterhose in a tribute during this year's University Sports Show.
