The DHM Snowboard & Freeski is the official German university championship in the disciplines of slopestyle and cross. It is organized by the German University Sports Association (adh) and this year once again hosted by the University Sports Center of RWTH Aachen University (HSZ). The SNOWSport Team Aachen and the sports department of Aachen's universities were involved as co-organizers. The venue was the Snowpark Freestyle Land in Les Deux Alpes in France, one of the best snowparks in the Alps.
After the first few days in Les Deux Alpes were spent setting up, preparing and training the athletes, it was time for the competition. The first day of the competition was dominated by the cross competition, in which the participants competed against each other in direct races on a course with waves, banked turns and jumps. The weather conditions were ideal, so that exciting duels and close decisions made for a thrilling event. On the slopestyle day, the athletes had to contend with strong winds, which made it necessary to adapt the competition conditions. For safety reasons, the runs were moved to smaller obstacles. Despite these challenges, the participants showed impressive tricks and creative runs.
In ski cross, Ira Perišić from RWTH Aachen University took first place in the women's competition, while Jonas Kallscheuer, also from RWTH Aachen University, triumphed in the men's competition. In snowboard cross, Paul Baudach from TU Chemnitz won the men's competition, while Laska Schwager from RWTH Aachen University won the women's competition. On the second day of competition in the ski slopestyle, Celina Schmidt from TU Dortmund won the women's competition. In snowboard slopestyle, Nia-Sophie Bestgen from the University of Cologne put in an outstanding performance and won the women's competition. Kirill Petruschanski from the University of Rostock impressed with strong runs in the men's competition and secured first place.
