Winter Sports in Aachen: The Snow Event Was a Huge Success!

On the Slopes!

On October 13, around 400 ski and snowboard enthusiasts headed out onto the slopes. With a variety of courses on offer, the HSZ provided a diverse program for both beginners and advanced snow sports enthusiasts. To facilitate sustainable travel, the HSZ offered a group bus ride from Bendplatz, which many students took advantage of. With four hours on the slopes, there was plenty of opportunity to practice those first turns in one of the beginner courses or to test one’s skills as a pro in the fun park. In addition, there were workshops where advanced participants could improve their technique or take on the challenge of a slalom course. The HSZ received active support for the courses from the SnowSport Team Aachen, which led the workshops. Anyone who needed a break after an action-packed run could relax in the alpine hut and make new friends among the other participants. An evening full of fun, sports, and camaraderie came to an end with the last bus at midnight.

ALMA Snowevent

Since the Snowevent generates great enthusiasm among students year after year, SnowWorld Landgraaf will once again open its doors for the ALMA Snowevent on November 17. Every year, the HSZ particularly looks forward to the international collaboration between the universities of Aachen, Liège, Maastricht, and Hasselt/Diepenbeek that the ALMA Snowevent brings. Registration is now open.

Anyone who would like to spend more time practicing on the slopes can visit the HSZ website to learn about the extensive range of snow sports courses and extra tours available.
