The “Pausenexpress” is a 15‑minute movement session that combines mobilising, strengthening, and relaxation exercises for RWTH and FH staff directly at the workplace.

The foundation for the Pausenexpress was laid by the University of Potsdam as part of a needs analysis for mobile training at the workplace. An initial implementation in practice began already in the summer semester of 2009. In 2010 the programme was further developed and adapted to each location by the universities of Berlin, Paderborn, Wuppertal and RWTH within a corporate health management (BGM) project in cooperation with the adh.

Since 2010 the popularity and awareness of the Pausenexpress have been steadily growing. At its peak, 150 courses with more than 850 participants are offered once a week by qualified instructors from the HSZ.

During the Corona pandemic the operation came to a halt, but over the past months we have been rebuilding the capacities step by step.

Today the Pausenexpress is complemented by online formats; for students it is mainly delivered through specially created videos embedded in lectures and, more recently, also held in the Central Library on Wednesdays.

We are always looking for instructors and also offer training for them. If you are interested in getting students or employees moving for good pay, get in touch with the Pausenexpress Team!
