RWTH Aachen Ski and Snowboard Instructor Training

University Sports Aachen offers ski and snowboard instructor training. This training allows good snow athletes to hold skiing and snowboarding lessons in university sports. The training is hold at the Deutscher Ski Verband's basic level and recognized by the WSV. Those who only complete the instructor training, will receive accreditation for Basic Level 1. Those who complete both, the instructor training and further training, in the same winter will receive accreditation for Basic Level 2 as long as they receive the necessary average grade.

The theoretical and practical training encompasses didactics, methodology, technique, mechanics, and knowledge on snow and avalanches. Recognition with the DSLV (Level 1) is also possible.
The practical training gives equal attention to technique and methodology training.

Requirements

Helmets are compulsory when participating in the ski and snowboard courses!

It makes the most sense to participate in further training in December but this is not a requirement. There you are prepared for the instructor training and meet the instructors in advance. Furthermore, you will see if your skiing or snowboarding skills are sufficient.
If you are unsure or just have additional questions, take a look at the SNOWSport Team website. You can meet other ski and snowboard instructors at the monthly regulars' table on the first Wednesday of the month. Just sign up for the SNOWSport Team mailing list to be kept updated.

Registration

A password is required to register. You can get this from the chairpersons or Uli Weber.
