The martial art Pencak Silat – short Silat – is a respected combat discipline with deep roots in Indonesian culture. The focus lies on the styles Javavia Tunggal Sakti and Sabeni Tenabang. Javavia Tunggal Sakti combines various styles from Central Java, West Java, and Betawi, including Sitembak, Sikilat, Maenpo, Sabeni, and others. In addition to self‑defence and sport competition, the learned movements and breathing techniques can also be used for meditation and general health maintenance.

Pencak Silat All Levels

Target group and prerequisites

This course is open to anyone who wants to learn a new martial art from the ground up.
It is ideal for those who wish to improve physical fitness, flexibility and body coordination through structured and progressive training. The course is suitable for all genders and all fitness levels.
People who already have some experience with the sport of Pencak Silat are also warmly welcome.

Content and objectives

In the course the fundamentals of the Indonesian combat sport Pencak Silat are presented and practiced.

Both empty‑hand (unarmed) techniques and traditional weapon‑based skills are trained.

The training incorporates solo exercises as well as partner drills.
