Road Cycling Course Level 1

Target Group and Requirements

The course is aimed at beginners in road biking. You should have a functional road bike and basically be able to ride it, which means being able to ride at least 30 kilometers at a time, know how to brake and shift gears, and so on.

Contents and Goals

The courses Level 1a and Level 1b are both aimed at beginners and have the same training content. They differ only in the base speed, with an average speed of approximately 22 km/h targeted in Level 1a and 25 km/h in Level 1b.

The course includes teaching and improving technique, such as braking maneuvers in critical situations, cornering, riding in a group, common hand signals when riding in a group, slipstreaming, power management and minor repairs. The emphasis is on gradually increasing endurance skills. We will start with rides of approximately 30 kilometers and 300 meters of elevation gain. At the end of the course we will climb about 900 meters of altitude on about 80 kilometers. The pace will be determined by the participants. The routes are very scenic and with little traffic. Regular participation from the beginning of the course is recommended, as the dates build on each other. It is possible to change to another group depending on the level of training and course capacity.
