Cafeteria Promotion Week 2026

09/04/2026

The RWTH Aachen University Sports Center (HSZ) is kicking off the 2026 summer semester with a focus on health, fitness, and energy. Together with the Aachen Student Services Association, it will host a promotion at the Mensa Academica at the start of the semester.

During the first week of the semester, special dishes for all sports enthusiasts await you on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the university cafeterias: From nutrient-rich Printen porridge to the Öcher Burger and the “Olympic roll” with extra protein—everything is being done to make the start of the semester enjoyable and healthy.

As part of the campaign, attention will also be drawn to the upcoming vote on the Cologne/Rhine-Ruhr region’s bid for the 2036/2040/2044 Olympic Games. Starting now, all residents of Aachen have the opportunity to cast their vote for this significant project. To that end, the University Sports Center (HSZ) is organizing a campaign booth in the cafeteria lobby on April 15, 2026, where students can cast their vote for or against hosting the Olympic Games in the region in a poll conducted by the HSZ. The University Sports Center is already eager to see this small snapshot of Aachen students’ opinions.

The University Sports Center would like to support the democratic process leading up to the world’s largest multisport event and encourages everyone to participate in the vote by April 19, 2026. This presents a unique opportunity for the entire region—Cologne, the Rhine-Ruhr area, and Aachen—to be part of this major event.

We wish you a fit, healthy, and active start to the summer semester and look forward to numerous joint events, highlights, and, of course, playing sports with you!
