Just 3 More Days Until The 32. Ice Hockey Uni-Cup powered by ThyssenKrupp
At the traditional Ice Hockey Uni-Cup powered by ThyssenKrupp (EUC) each year the faculties of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and medicine compete against one another on the ice and present the over 3’000 spectators with breathtaking spectacle.
On December 5 it will be that time again. At the Ice Hockey Uni-Cup the Aachen Steelers (Mechanical Engineering Faculty), the ET-Lions (Electrical Engineering Faculty) and Medical Strikers (Medical Faculty) will show down on the ice in exciting duels for the prized ThyssenKrupp trophy. The Medical Strikers currently hold the title, but will have to fight hard to defend it, as the ThyssenKrupp-Trophy is highly coveted.
Above all, the EUC is characterized by the students and staff of RWTH and FH Aachen, brought together by a passion for ice hockey. A further highlight are the imaginative costumes of the players, which are reimagined year on year. The themes are secret, however, and are kept closely guarded until match day.
The event cannot be imagined without the mixed cheerleading groups of the faculties, either. The best performance can look forward to the honor prize of the friends and patrons of Aachen University Sports (FuFAH) powered by DELOITTE:
After the games, the prize-giving ceremony will take place in the “Starfish”, where the winning team will be duly celebrated. Thanks to the support of ASEAG, a bus shuttle service between the bus station, ice rink and disco will be available throughout the night.
Every year, the proceeds of the event are donated to regional and international charities. This year, Breakfast4Kids and Right to Play received the donation.
