The RWTH Campuslauf 2021 goes digital
Running, tracking and keep moving: that's the motto of this year's digital Campuslauf. From April 30 to May 9, 2021, the digital event organized by the University Sports Center (HSZ) will encourage students and employees of the universities in Aachen to run. At the digital press meeting on April 28, everyone involved agreed: The Campuslauf digital is a great alternative!
The digital RWTH Campuslauf takes place ideally at the beginning of the summer semester. Participants can register as usual for the FunRun (4.6km), FitnessRun (9km) and relay run (4 x 2.3km). The run is to be run alone, with runners tracking their results themselves by using a running app of their choice. Afterwards, the results can be submitted online to the HSZ.
A new special rating at this year's Campuslauf focuses on team spirit. The largest team with the most finishers in all runs combined will be awarded the FuFAH honorary prize - the Klenkes Cup - by the Förderverein des Aachener Hochschulsports (FuFAH e.V.) in this special ranking.
The Campuslauf is also very popular at Fachhochschule Aachen, University of Applied Sciences. The cooperation between the universities in Aachen in the field of sports has existed for a very long time and is perceived by both sides as an enrichment. Professor Michael Wulf, Vice-Rector for University Development at Fachhochschule Aachen, University of Applied Sciences, notes that a cooperation between the universities is of great importance. "People are moved by the same things. So why not do sports together?"
Since the first Campuslauf in 2017, Techniker Krankenkasse has supported the event as a main and health partner. This year is no exception. Although the event does not take place in presence, it is sponsored by Techniker Krankenkasse. Masoud Mirzai, Head of Customer Service of Techniker Krankenkasse at Campus Aachen, is excited about the digital version of the Campuslauf: "Any event that encourages people to move deserves to be supported."
