The Track Signs are in Place - Only Two Weeks to the Popular Lousberg Run

22/06/2023

Just about two weeks before the run, the official signs are now in place. The unique course over the Lousberg may seem relatively short at only 5,555 meters. But due to the not to be underestimated gradients and the slope shortly before the finish, it will make even top athletes sweat. Training on the course is recommended for a successful run.

The Lousberg Run is being held for the 34th time this year. In 1989, the run was held for the first time as a university sports event. Since then, students living in the Rütscher Straße residential towers have become an important part of the event. They support the run both on and off the course as volunteers or active participants.

An important long-time partner for the Aachener Lauffest is the city of Aachen. After 34 years, the city and the HSZ are already a well-established team. The cooperation with the city of Aachen thus ensures a safe and successful Lousberglauf powered by STAWAG. In recent years, ecological aspects have become more and more important in the cooperation. It is important for both the HSZ and the city of Aachen to organize a sustainable event. This year, for example, increased attention is being paid to the protection of the tree population along the course.

STAWAG has supported the run as title sponsor for almost 20 years. On the day of the run, they are also actively on site and supply the runners with water in the finish area.

More volunteer helpers are being sought. Those interested can sign up on the university sports website. Those who have not yet secured one of the popular starting places for the Lousberglauf powered by STAWAG can do so via the Hochschulsport website.

Further information is available on the Lousberglauf powered by STAWAG website.
