A number of boats are available at Wildenhof. At the moment, however, only whitewater boats and sea kayaks may be used.
In order to rent boats at Wildenhof during the summer, students and University employees can acquire an internal University canoeing permit. This can be obtained in the canoeing course. Swimming ability is required for all university sports canoeing programs.
If you would like to be informed of last minute course cancellations and facility closures affecting this course, please join the corresponding mailing list.
Everyone is welcome to join the canoe polo training—whether you want to try the sport, already have experience, or have been playing polo for a long time. No prior knowledge is necessary, but it helps significantly if you have paddled before or participated in a ball sport. Sufficient swimming skills are required. During the training, we will focus on technique, tactics, and endurance, and as soon as it is allowed again, we will of course play. If there is great interest, we will offer a special beginner training session on an additional weekday.
If you are new to Aachen Canoe Polo, please contact Kristin or Marco via email beforehand. This way, we can coordinate carpooling to the lake and provide you with further information about the training.
Those who were registered in the summer semester can book the winter semester training for free. All others should contact Kristin via email before booking to receive the password for registration.
Canoe polo is a team discipline in canoeing for anyone who wants to combine playful interaction with the ball and perfect boat control. At university level, canoe polo is played exclusively in mixed teams.
We train every Tuesday and Thursday from April through October at Blausteinsee Eschweiler. Boats, paddles, vests, helmets, and spray decks are provided by Hochschulsport (university sports). We form carpools from Aachen; therefore, please get in touch with the trainers.
From November through March, we train every two weeks at the GGS Schönforst swimming pool and possibly also every two weeks at the covered outdoor pool Dürwiss. Boats, paddles, helmets, vests, spray decks, and balls are provided but must be transported from HSZ to the swimming hall and back for each training session.
