"Rugby!? That's such a hard sport. I'm not built for it!" Don't worry. Rugby is a fast and physical team sport but also very fair and a game for all shapes and sizes. Both men and women play rugby in the classic 15-person and 7-person variations. The objective of the game is to carry the oval ball past the opposing team's goal line and touch it to the ground. Rugby training at University Sports Aachen is held in collaboration with the Rugby Club Aachen. This offer is targeted towards women and men, who train both separately and together. Experienced coaches teach the courses, in which general and game-specific fitness is promoted and a basic understanding of rugby is taught.

It offers the possibility to train towards improving one's performance and to significantly improve one's playing skills. Participants are assigned to one of three groups: A, B, or C. A player's individual skills and general unit skills determine which group they play in. However, training is open. This means that if a player from Group A demonstrates individual weaknesses, he can participate in the training of a lower group, in order to improve certain fundamental skills at a lower level. This allows each player to be challenged and supported.
