Tae-Kwon-Do is a simultaneously a traditional Korean martial art and a modern Olympic discipline – since 2015 also a Paralympic discipline. Correspondingly broad is the range of taekwondo: It ranges from a martial art with deep roots in Korean philosophy to a dynamic competitive sport. The Korean national sport is now played in over 200 countries. The German Taekwondo Union (DTU) represents over 60’000 athletes.

Notes regarding the interim sports hall

We kindly ask for your understanding that due to the extraordinary temporary interim situation, the usual room climate cannot always be guaranteed.

Materials

We train in comfortable, flexible sportswear like, for example, a t-shirt and tracksuit trousers, to begin with. Participation is only possible barefoot! Slippers are recommended for the way to the changing rooms.

Tae Kwon Do Level 1

Target Group and Requirements

This course is aimed at everybody who wishes to learn a new martial art and improve their physical fitness.

Content and Goals

The training is based on the teaching of the fundamental kick and movement techniques of Taekwondo. The correct techniques (mainly kicks) will be trained step for step. The training is suitable for beginners and reentrants to the sport. After the beginning phase, tactics and combinations of the learned fundamental techniques will be trained.

Target Group and Prerequisites

This course is aimed at everyone who wants to continue a comprehensive training after participating in the Level 1 course, as well as those who are already coming to us with the 8th Kup and would like to start training with us.

Content and Objectives

The training builds on the experiences that participants bring from the Level 1 course, focusing on advanced techniques step by step in both technique and sparring. The new techniques are mostly practiced in combinations and small tactical drills with a partner. Additionally, the first forms (Taeguk Poosae) will be learned, which train the musculoskeletal system through a sequence of combinations of learned techniques and are important for further belt examinations.

Target Group and Requirements

This course is aimed at all students, who wish to train Taekwondo. Previous Taekwondo experience or completion of a semester of beginners’ training at the HSZ are required for participation.

The skill level of the participants in this training can vary. If you are unsure, then please contact the course instructor!

Participation is only possible after consultation with the trainer. The booking page is password protected.

Contents and Goals

The training is based on three pillars: Endurance, kick-combinations and tactics. After warm-up and stretching, movement patterns are learned and trained with a focus on technique, speed and precision.

The goal is taekwondo sparring, the practice of the sport with a live opponent.
