Billiards is a game with different disciplines such as pool, carom and snooker. Within the different forms of the game there are different variations, which makes the game of billiards varied and attractive. Two people or teams play against each other. Billiard balls are brought into a certain position with a cue per shot.

Equipment

Material like cues, ball sets as well as the corresponding billiard tables are available.

Special sportswear or shoes are not necessary.

Introduction to Cue Sports

Target Group and Requirements

This course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn or deepen their billiards skills. No special prerequisites are required.

Contents and Goals

The goal is to learn the playing technique from the correct stance to precise aiming and controlled strokes with the cue. Additionally, the rules of each discipline—carom, snooker, and pool billiards—will be explained and practiced. Techniques and tactics of billiard games in the respective disciplines will be taught for both beginners and advanced players.

Particularities

The course is held in cooperation with the Billiard Sports Club Aachen 1929 e.V. and ASC - Pot Black- e.V. In the first three course units, the focus will be on carom billiards at the Billiard Sports Club Aachen 1929 e.V., followed by three additional units dedicated to snooker at ASC - Pot Black- e.V., and the last three units will deepen pool billiards skills at the Billiard Sports Club Aachen 1929 e.V. During the course duration, participants have the opportunity to play and practice free of charge after class sessions. Further information will be provided by the clubs during the course sessions.

Introduction to Cue Sports

Carom Billiards

In Carom Billiards, the game is played with only three balls, which usually have the colors red, white and yellow. The aim of the game is to hit the other balls with the cue ball according to certain rules.

Target Group and Requirements

The carom course is aimed at participants who have regularly attended the "Introduction to Cue Sports" course or have gained experience from one of the previous carom courses in recent semesters.

Contents and Goals

The techniques and tactics of carom billiards learned so far will be deepened.

Particularities

The course is held in cooperation with the Billiard Sports Club Aachen 1929 e.V. During the course duration, participants have the opportunity to play and practice for an additional 60 minutes free of charge after each class session.

In snooker, 15 red balls and 6 balls of different colors are placed in pockets according to certain rules.

Target Group and Requirements

The course is aimed at participants who have regularly attended the "Introduction to Cue Sports" course or have gained experience from one of the previous snooker courses in recent semesters.

Contents and Goals

The goal is to deepen the playing technique from the correct stance to precise aiming and controlled strokes with the cue. There will be a focus on the rules of high-tactical play.

Particularities

The course is held in cooperation with ASC - Pot Black- e.V.. During the course duration, participants have the opportunity to play and practice for an additional 60 minutes free of charge after each class session.

Pool is played with a white cue ball and 15 colored balls half and full and the black 8 ball. The aim is to pocket your balls with the cue ball and in the end the black 8 ball.
