Who hasn't dreamed of doing a somersault or a handspring? In the University Sports Center's gymnastics program you can learn the art of gymnastics. We offer classes at different levels. 

Basic Information

Sports Facility

Materials

Participation is only permitted when wearing a seperate, clean pair of gymnastics shoes or barefoot. Gymnastics mats and apparatus are provided by the University Sports Center.

Special Participation Requirements

For safety reasons participants are only allowed to use equipment during training after speaking with the instructor. Courses cannot be held without an instructor present. In the event that the instructor is absent at the last minute and instructor cannot be found, training will be cancelled.

Gymnastics Level 1

Target Group and Prerequisites

The course is targeted towards anyone interested. No special skills or previous experience are required.

Content and Objectives

This course aims to teach participants the basics of gymnastics. Participants start at the very beginning. The training objectives including improving overall strength, teaching participants to have a feeling for their body, and teacing participants simple gymnastics tricks on the floor, high bar, and bars. Participants are expected to help with set up and take down.

Gymnastics Level 2

Target Group and Prerequisites

This course is targeted towards anyone who has already mastered the content from Level 1. Participants should be able to do at least one cartwheel and one handstand confidently and cleanly. Participants can transfer to a lower or higher level after speaking with the course instructor, as long as there is enough space in the class. The booking of this course requires a password. The password is provided by the instructor on request.

Content and Objectives

The training objectives for this level are particularly expanding participants' techniques, building strength, and learning advanced tricks.

Gymnastics Level 3

Target Group and Requirements

This course is aimed at all those who have already mastered the content of the Level 1 and Level 2 courses. Participants should at least be able to perform a cartwheel and handstand safely and cleanly. Switching to a lower or higher level is possible upon consultation with a course instructor if sufficient spaces are still available in the relevant groups.

Content and Objectives

The training goals of this course are the improvement of technique, strength and learning of advanced gymnastics exercises.

Gymnastics Meet-Up

Target Group and Requirements

This offer is aimed at athletes with club sports experience, as well as those who have already completed the course system of the University Sports Center. “Meet-Ups” are equivalent to open training.

Contents and Goals

The meet-up offer active athletes the opportunity to practice their sport. There is no instruction by a HSZ course instructors.

A HSZ course instructor is present to monitor correct set-up and use of equipment. Equipment has to be set up by the athletes themselves.

Organizational Notice

This offer is password protected in order to avoid, that people without the necessary experience participate in the offer. (The password can be requested at the sport’s representatives).

Tricking Meet-Up

Target Group and Requirements

This offer is aimed at athletes that want to improve their acrobatic skills. “Meet-Ups” are equivalent to open training.

The meet-up offer active athletes the opportunity to practice their sport. There is no instruction by a HSZ course instructors.

Gymnastics Competition

The gymnastics group of the HSZ organizes the internal Aachen University Championships in gymnastics. The competition will take place at the Verlautenheide gymnasium.

Registration Regulation

Online registration is open until the start of the tournament. All participants must report to the tournament management in the hall by 10:30am. on the day of the tournament!

Please remember to bring either a registered BlueCard, FH Card or a printed registration confirmation, as well as a photo ID on the day of the tournament. Without a valid registration and identification participation is not possible!
