Due to construction work on a neighbouring institute building, only four beach sports courts are currently available. Once the construction site has been dismantled, our Königshügel beach sports facility will be expanded to eight courts by 2029. The University Sports Centre offers a programme of courses with guided training and learning content, organised matches, as well as a limited service for booking individual beach volleyball court slots. Season tickets are not currently available.

Materials

Nets

You may only use the nets provided by the University Sports Center. You can get the nets against a deposit from the sports supervisor or starting from 2:30pm from the service personnel in the hut. Since the distance between the posts on every court differs by a few centimeters, make sure that you hang the net that matches the posts. Tell the service personnel which court you want to play on: the nets are numbered just like the courts.

If you need help setting up the net, please ask our personnel in the hut. We are happy to help you.

Balls

Individuals playing a game can borrow balls against a deposit from the sports supervisor or the service personnel at the hut near the facility.

Links and Other Activities

To supplement your training, we recommend the course Fitness Training for Ball and Team Sports.

The HSZ traditionally holds a mixed beach volleyball tournament in the summer semester as part of the RWTH FH SPORTS DAY.

You can find fellow players in our "Sportpartnerbörse", the sports partner exchange.
