Participation Information

Authorized individuals include members and affiliates of RWTH Aachen and FH Aachen. Other individuals can participate, with some restrictions, as guests. Students from other universities are authorized to participate in university sports. The listed groups of persons are generally eligible to participate, provided they have reached the age of 16.

Eligibility must be proven at the time of registration by a valid certificate of enrollment from a university or an employee ID and photo ID. You must always carry appropriate identification for courses that do not require registration. The authorization to participate must be presented at any time upon request to the instructors or other persons who exercise domiciliary rights.

The actual prices for individual offers are stored on the corresponding booking pages of the sports offers.The fee is collected by direct debit.

The homepage of the University Sports Center provides information about the registration process. Participants must register to complete a binding online booking, during which you commit to paying the fee displayed. The confirmation of registration must be carried at all times during participation and must be presented at any time upon request to the exercise instructors or other persons exercising domiciliary rights.

The registration for the sports program takes place in two periods, and there are fixed registration days for each period. You can find this information on our website regarding program start and dates.

Additionally, you have the option to book remaining spots or make individual appointments on a daily basis.

Participants can now use a simplified online registration by creating a password at the end of the registration. In the future, they can log in to University Sports using their personal email address and this password. Once you log in, all of your personal registration information will appear.

If you have forgotten your password, fill out the registration form again during your next booking and select a new password.

We refer to Prime Time as the period of time with particularly high demand. It extends over the following times:

Monday to Thursday        Start from 5pm to 9:30pm

Friday                              Start from 5pm to 8:30pm

Saturday                          from 1pm

Sunday                            all day

The secondary tim is a lower demand period. It extends over the following times:

Monday to Thursday         Start before 5 pm or from 10 pm

Friday                              Start before 5 pm or from 9 pm

Saturday and Sunday        all day

There is no general semester card allowing you to participate in all sports at University Sports at RWTH Aachen.

The fee is collected by direct debit.We give the order for the collection only from the 27th to the 14th of each month, always on Wednesdays.The debit from your account is usually six days after commissioning.If you have correctly stated your e-mail at the time of booking, you will receive an e-mail with information on the charge.Once you have received this email, we can not stop the charge.Please be sure to cover your account.

Don't worry, you are still registered. After registering, you automatically receive a confirmation email containing all the important information. To be safe, you can save the HTML page on your computer. We recommend that owners of the RWTH BlueCard or FH Card register their card at the HSZ, so that you no longer need a confirmation of registration for admission. By means of the registered barcode of the cards, our system immediately recognizes whether there is a valid booking in your name. In addition, you can also have a confirmation issued later at our Service Point or have the link for it sent to you by email.

When you provide your email address, we can quickly inform you about courses with spaces that have become available, additional offers, course changes, course cancellations, and similar information. Please note: Please provide a valid email address and make sure you type it correctly

In principle, cancelations can only occur in written form, primarily by email. Please pay attention to our cancelation rules in our participation conditions and if necessary to our regulation of use of the respective sports facility.

In case of cancelation of a single appointment of a sports facility, which is made less than 24 hours before the booked session, there is no right to a refund. In case of cancelation of the single appointment up to 24 hours before the booked date, a cancelation fee of 50 percent of the fee will be charged.

In various no-fee offers, you will receive a link for cancelation with the confirmation email.

Cancelation of booked services is only possible in exceptional cases. A processing fee of 5 percent of the fee, at least 5 euros, will be charged for each cancelation; the processing fee will be charged on top of the cancellation fee. A refund of the fee after the start of the course is excluded.

Separate regulations apply to the cancellation of extra tours.

Each of these facilities is accessed via a turnstyle or revolving door. In both cases, you may only access the facility after previously registering for a course and bringing a printed copy of the valid registration confirmation. Hold the barcode to the scanner. It is also possible to scan the barcode from a mobile device.

If you have a RWTH BlueCard or FH card that is registered in the HSZ Service Point, you do not need a printed registration confirmation. Using the card's registered barcode, our system immediately recognizes whether you have a valid booking in your name. Please note: If you have exchanged your card, you must re-register it with the HSZ.

The RWTH Aachen and FH Aachen student IDs and the FH Aachen employee ID can be used when access to University Sports is being controlled. Holders of the BlueCard or FH card have the possibility to register their card number in our database. This just needs to be done once and offers all participants the advantage that the booked offers from Aachen University Sports can be pulled up using the card. This means you do not need to carry your registration confirmation with you. Cards can be read at the outdoor sports facilities, indoors at Sporthalle Königshügel and at Ahornstraße, in our Service Point during opening hours. Please note: If you exchange your card, the new card number must be re-registered in our system.

At first please check in case of a sport accident if the accident falls within the jurisdiction of the Unfallkasse Nordrhein-Westfalen (German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the public sector in North Rhine-Westphalia). For further information visit RWTH Aachen's Regulation for Aachen University Sports. The accident report needs to be handed in within three days at the Studierendenwerk.

For organizational and insurance reasons, it is unfortunately not possible to name a substitute if you are unable to attend a session.

Parking on the university sports grounds and also in Mies van der Rohe Straße in the extension of the Wendehammer is only possible with an RWTH parking permit. Be careful, the university checks the parking and has it towed away rigorously.
